  • New Employees

    As a new full-time employee, you are eligible for Benefits the first day of the month following 15 calendar days of active employment.  You will receive an email from our Benefits department with instructions on how to enroll online as well as information regarding any required documentation you may need.  If you do not enroll before your period of coverage begins, you will not be able to do so again until open enrollment is held or until you experience a valid change in status event.

  • Employee Benefits and Risk Management Information 

    Medical (Florida Blue)

    There are 3 medical plans to choose from, all with Florida Blue.  Our Interactive Guide contains a comparison of the 3 plans so you can choose the one that best suits your medical needs.

    Dental and Vision (Humana)

    Humana is our dental and vision provider.  There is currently 1 vision plan and 2 dental plans.  The dental plans are the Managed Care (C-150) Plan and the PPO/Indemnity (Custom PPO) Plan to make dental care more affordable.  


    Quest Diagnostics is the "in network" provider for laboratory services for all Monroe County School Board Employees.  It covers 100% with the District's Medical Plans. 

    PayFlex - Flexible Spending Account

    A healthcare FSA is used to pay for eligible medical expenses which aren't covered by your insurance.  Participation in FSA is not manditory.

    Life Insurance

    The Board contributes $10,000 life insurance at no cost to you.  The Standard Insurance Company is our life insurance provider.  You can also enroll in additional life insurance, if you choose, at a cost.

    Prescription Coverage (Optum RX)

    Prescription coverage is with Optum Rx.  Once you enroll in medical, you are automatically enrolled in perscription coverage.

    Your 401 (k) account is long-term investemnt, designed specifically for your retirement needs. All full-time employees are eligable to participate in the Vista 401(k)Supplemental Retirement Plan.

  • 403(b) Plan - TSA Consulting Group (TSAG)

    TSA Meaningful Notice 2021

    TSA Consulting Group, Inc. (TSACG) provides a variety of services to public education employers that relate to the compliance and administration of 403(b) Retirement Plans.  On behalf of Monroe County School District, TSACG will be responsible for facilitating the administration of your Retirement Plan and the Retirement Plan Compliance and Employee Education Program for supplemental Retirement Plans such as 403(b) – Tax Sheltered Accounts.  These plans are an important part of your employee benefit program, and you should have basic knowledge of how these plans work to enhance your retirement savings.


  • Sick Leave Pool

    Representatives from the Administration Team and United Teachers of Monroe met to review the Sick Leave Pool of both the Teachers and the Administration/Support Pools.  It was decided that the Pools would have two (2) open enrollment periods to allow employees two (2) opportunities to enroll.  The enrollment periods will be February and September.  In order to enroll in the Sick Leave Pool, you must be employed with the Monroe County School District for a minimum of one (1) year and have at least seven (7) sick days on the books.

    Our School District has selected the Student Insurance Plan from Health Special Risk, Inc. (HSR) to make reliable coverage available to parents.  If you do not have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider.  Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting www.K12Studentinsurance.com.
