Title V, Part B: Rural & Low Income Schools Program
Title V, Part B Rural & Low Income Schools program is designed to assist rural school districts in using Federal resources more effectively improving instructional quality and student academic achievement. In MCSD, Title V, Part B funds are being used to improve instructional quality by supporting voluntary Saturday teacher professional development. These professional development opportunities include using data to design literacy embedded lessons into content areas and closing the achievement gap of the English Learner, Exceptional Student Education, and lowest quartile students. Funds targeting increased student academic achievement include supporting extended school day/year programs for identified 5 year old students entering Kindergarten who are not meeting literacy phonemic awareness skills.
