• Volunteer to help the district select ELA instructional materials

    Dear Parents and Community Members,

    We’re excited to invite you to be a part of our K-5 ELA Adoption Team! This team will help us identify and select innovative literacy programs that will inspire our students and significantly enhance their learning experience. Your perspective and voice are invaluable as we work to shape the future of literacy education in our district. This team will select materials during the 2025-2026 school year.

    As a member of the team, you will:

    • Help select cutting-edge educational resources that will make a real impact on our students.
    • Collaborate with a passionate group of educators, administrators, and community members.
    • Expand your knowledge of leadership and curriculum development.

    We encourage involvement from:

    • Parents and community members who are passionate about education and literacy.

    How to Get Involved:
    If you're interested in joining the K-5 ELA Adoption Team, please register by Wednesday, June 11. Initial training will be provided to team members on August 1. If you cannot attend, you’re still welcome to participate, though you may not be counted as part of the core team.

  • Public Notice: Update Instructional Resources Adoption

    This is an update on the Monroe County School District's K-12 Instructional Resources adoption.

    On May 23, the 30-day public objection period for recommendation materials concluded.

     

    The following materials are recommended and approved for curriculum adoption for four years

  • Notice of Public Meeting: MCSD and UTM Bargaining Teams

    The Monroe County School District (MCSD) and the United Teachers of Monroe (UTM) convenes annually to bargain conditions pertinent to the UTM, Teachers and School Related Personnel (SRP) Contracts.  Two bargaining sessions have been scheduled on: 

    Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 9:00-5:00 and Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:00-5:00 

    All bargaining sessions will be held in Key West at the Monroe County School District Headquarters on 241 Trumbo Rd.  All of the meetings will be conducted in person at the same times and location as listed above.  For any inquiries, please contact Harry Russell by email at: Harry.Russell@keysschools.com no later than Noon, the day before a scheduled session or calling 305-293-1400 x53329.
