Digital journalism is the distribution of news and other editorial content presented online to the consumer. Digital journalists at MHS use the latest technology to produce the daily announcements as well as public service announcements and school-based informational videos. Students learn how to use camera equipment, lighting, audio equipment, drones and other technology in order to capture the desired story. They then use Adobe Premiere Pro, the industry standard software, to edit the news pieces and bring them to the consumer.

Students interested in digital journalism should consider taking the elective class in grades 9-12. Middle school students can begin to develop these skills in the Info Comm Tech class offered in grades 5-8. Students in grades 8-12 can also join Film Club, which works hand-in-hand with digital journalism on many projects.
