In the wake of Hurricane Irma recovery, many of our families were able to receive food benefits through the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as D-SNAP, as part of disaster recovery, last fall. This also qualified many of our students for free or reduced-price school meals. However, eligibility for free and reduced-price school meals from participation in Disaster SNAP ended on June 30, 2018.
Your child or children may still be able to receive free or reduced-price school meals if you meet the household income eligibility guidelines. I encourage families to submit an application if you would like your child to receive school meal benefits for school year 2018-2019 at https://frapps.horizonsolana.com/MONc02. If you are receiving regular SNAP benefits, your child will be automatically enrolled and there is no need to apply.
