GEMS Recognized at August, 25th School Board Meeting

Rebecca Brown is a teacher at PKS and was nominated for a GEMS award by her principal Lisa Taylor. She has acted as a connection to their community through numerous ways.  She single handedly got a lot of families through these tough time by personally showing them the resources available within our community and by building relationships. The lives of these families were improved by Rebecca’s efforts as she worked selflessly seven days a week dawn to dusk, serving the community in this capacity as well as delivering family meals from meal distribution sites in Upper Keys to those families who were unable to get to the sites. Ms. Taylor says, Rebecca Brown has gone above and beyond to connect with our families. She has continued her out reach all summer to be sure they are safe and fed. She is amazing. Additionally a collective GEMS award recognition was given to our district wide Back to School Task Force Teams – Our amazing schools assembled teams to get schools ready for face to face instruction. These small group committees have done exceptional work at schools across the county to help keep our district employees safe and prepare the schools for safely reopening, when the time comes. We salute all of these dedicated individuals that are stepping up to support our District during these unprecedented times.

Thank you GEMS for your ongoing commitment and dedicaton to the MCSD community.
